About Grey Matter Network

What’s GMN all about?

Have you ever had days when nothing seems to go right – missing the bus, spilling coffee on your shirt, meeting “the worst” taxi driver, waitress, or colleague, crashing the hard drive… the list could go on.

Have you also had a day where everything in the world seems to be conspiring to make it the best possible one – everyone you meet is smiling or friendly, the perfect assignment comes in or gets approved, an old friend calls up, a refund comes in the mail… extraordinary.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have every day as a good, no, a great day?

Elite athletes that excel in their sport tend to make their best performances a regular occurrence, so why not life?

Welcome to Grey Matter Network, a great place to find out how you can make the best use of the abilities you have to make your own life so much more – using your own mind, your own grey matter!

What have we got “in mind”?

Our aim is to be the premier subconscious excellence and hypnotherapy facility in Asia, not only serving our clients with the best, most effective processes for personal and corporate change, but also educating and informing the populous about the advantages and uses of subconscious work.

We also conduct Certifying Courses for Hypnotherapists; ‘raising the bar’ in professional training for those who would like to make a career by helping others make changes. With the aim of expanding around the region so that more people can benefit from this gentle and effective therapeutic process, we are holding courses in various locations throughout the year – so there is always a highly qualified training near you!

Our mentoring programme offers successful graduates with the opportunity to gain work-experience under the supervision of trained Hypnotherapists – enhancing understanding quickly and providing an environment for greater success – for our students AND our clients.

But why Grey Matter Network – what’s that all about?

We call ourselves Grey Matter Network for a number of reasons. Some of them even help explain what we aim to do.

If you looked at word definitions, they would tell you the ‘official’ version…

grey matter:  greyish nervous tissue containing cell bodies as well as fibres; forms the cerebral cortex consisting of unmyelinated neurons

net•work: An openwork fabric or structure in which cords, threads, or wires cross at regular intervals. Something resembling an openwork fabric or structure in form or concept, especially: A system of lines or channels that cross or interconnect; A complex, interconnected group or system; An extended group of people with similar interests or concerns who interact and remain in informal contact for mutual assistance or support: To interact or engage in informal communication with others for mutual assistance or support.

Which is all well and good, but looking at it from our perspective, it leave something unfinished, so we have “re-defined” our name to better explain who we are.

GREY – not white and not black, but a mixture of both. There seem to be a million shades to choose from. Shades of grey are the default ‘colours’ of old photos and movies, and some of our memories or dreams. If you look at things in only black and white, you might be missing the subtleties that grey allows – a fuller picture, a better perspective, a new shade on an old view.

We can help you get past some of the blacks and whites that aren’t working in your life for a whole new range of options and opportunities.

MATTER – mind over matter? We are all made of matter, of energy… our mind contemplates what matters… what’s the matter?… what matters to you?

At GMN you matter, and the ability for us to help you achieve what you need and want to achieve in this life is of utmost importance.

NETWORK – we all share this planet and form a natural network because of it. Sometimes there are blocks that keep us from the networks we’d like to include ourselves in – of family, work, community – of love, confidence, caring, success… Subconscious work helps make connections that might not have been joined (or improperly so) – as a result, everything flows more easily, the way it was meant to.

Our company’s networks are growing as well, dealing with individuals, businesses, sports teams, educational networks… all part of the connected plan of helping people make the best use of their grey matter.

 GMN Founder – Jennifer C. S. Norris-Nielsen

Jennifer Norris-Nielsen is founder of Grey Matter Network. Canadian-born Jennifer is a self-professed “Renaissance Woman”, who focuses in life, learning and change in a wide variety of ways. She has over 10 years in counselling, consulting and training.

Her diverse educational and career history has reinforced how different perspectives can be used to connect with individuals and groups in meaningful ways, and how the construction of relevant programs will best suit different backgrounds and experiences.

After executing corporate and personal development courses and seminars – including motivation, creativity and change management - Jennifer realised that often what is taught by conventional ‘conscious mind’ classroom or training methods isn’t necessarily learned over the long-tern, or may be learned but not implemented.  Her studies indicated that a whole-brain approach was one of the fundamental keys to long-term change and growth.

Jennifer formalised this understanding by completing her Certification as a Hypnotherapist through the National Guild of Hypnotists, the world’s oldest and largest hypnosis organisation. She is also a certified Sports Hypnotist and is a certified HypnoBirthing® Practitioner. Jennifer is trained as a Counsellor. As a result of her work in service, she was nominated for the Spirit of Enterprise Award 2006.

Jennifer is author of Three Hypnotic Powers: To Enhance and Enrich Your Child’s Life. This Parent’s Guide helps to actively explain the workings of a child’s mind, and assists in developing self-worth and ability through exercises using the power of Words, Perceptions and Feelings, and the Imagination.

Jennifer wrote her first Masters on areas of subconscious use in business, marketing and market research, and continues expand the concept of improving the ‘corporate mind’ through group and individual programmes.

As a Certified Instructor (NGH), Jennifer focuses both on the needs of her clients as well as the development and maturation of this expanding profession within Asia, and continues to work with individuals, groups and companies to increasingly make subconscious work the most relevant way to make positive change.
